Anthony Joshua or the world’s best heavyweight prospect? Who could be next for Derek Chisora?

Derek Chisora kept his incredible run going earlier this month when he produced a stunning performance to outpoint Otto Wallin.

Next up for Chisora is his half century and he made it clear in the fight’s immediate aftermath that he intends to keep on fighting.

Here, we look at several options that the veteran heavyweight could explore.

Daniel Dubois

Could we see Chisora receive a world title shot? The London man is highly rated with the IBF and if Daniel Dubois can retain that title against Joseph Parker on February 22, could Chisora be next?

Dubois may wish to aim higher and face Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch for undisputed honours, but a showdown with Chisora, could be big business in England’s capital.

Anthony Joshua

Chisora’s record is filled with many huge names, but one major absentee is Anthony Joshua.

With Tyson Fury now seemingly retired, will Chisora be an option for Joshua as he continues to chase fights that can become marquee events?

Chisora was once managed by Joshua’s 258 team and that could make an interesting narrative if a fight between the two can be arranged.

Oleksandr Usyk

Chisora has already shared the ring with Oleksandr Usyk when he was outpointed by the magical Ukrainian back in 2020.

Usyk has taken his career to another level since that fight and although Chisora would likely provide another spirited effort, his old rival may well pursue more lucrative options.

Dillian Whyte

If Dillian Whyte can past Joe Joyce in April, would he welcome a trilogy meeting with Chisora and continue one of British boxing’s most toxic rivalries.

Whyte already holds two wins over Chisora, but a third meeting would be welcomed by both with Chisora looking to get the last word in what has been a thrilling series so far.

Moses Itauma

The golden boy of the heavyweight division has blasted his way through every assignment so far and it’s possible that those guiding his career may want to provide him with a serious test.

Chisora would certainly provide that, but it’s possible the experienced campaigner believes that he is more worthy of a fighter currently in a top position rather than one on his way there.
