Chris Eubank Jr’s rivalry with Conor Benn took a nasty turn earlier this week when the pair collided in a bad-tempered press conference in Manchester.

The pair are set to fight on April 26th at the impressive Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and it’s set to be one of the biggest boxing events of 2025.

Three years ago, Eubank Jr and Benn were set to meet in a huge grudge match but an issue with the latter’s drug test meant the bout was postponed at the last-minute leading Eubank Jr into a two-fight series with Liam Smith.

Benn has registered two wins since the original contest was set to take place with the Essex man claiming a points win over Peter Dobson last year.

At Tuesday's first press conference, Eubank Jr smashed an egg in Benn’s face, a direct response to Benn claiming eggs were a reason he endured problems with his drug test.

Security separated the pair immediately and there’re now concerns on how the pair will conduct themselves at future media events before the fight.

Carl Froch, a former world champion, had his fair share of tense build-ups with his feud with George Groves spilling over several times, and he’s the latest fight figure to comment on Eubank’s attack on Benn.

“I’d have been fuming. He didn’t just get slapped round the face, he did it quite hard, he also got egged,” said Froch when speaking on his Froch on Fighting YouTube channel.

“When you get egged, you’re fuming. I’d have been p****d off. I’m going to give him advice. The first time with Groves I was fuming. You get in there and load up and make mistakes.

“You advertise your shots a little bit and make split second decisions where it’s wrong. You’ve got to be calmer. Boxing is all about discipline.”
