Liam Smith know what it takes to step into the ring with Chris Eubank Jr after participating in two memorable bouts with the Brighton man.

In 2023, ‘Beefy’ became the first man to stop Eubank Jr as he dominated his rival to score an impressive win.

In an immediate rematch, Eubank Jr was able to level the series at 1-1 as he grabbed revenge over Smith with a superb stoppage victory.

Despite the rivalry still having plenty of life left in it, both men are moving in different directions as they face different opponents on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

For Smith, he will go in with Aaron McKenna, and topping the bill is the major grudge match between Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.

Eubank Jr and Benn were originally set to face off in 2022, but those plans were called off at the last minute when it was revealed Benn had failed a pre-fight drugs test.

Almost three years later, the fight is back on, and Smith, who still hopes to land a showdown with either man, has had his say on the fight.

"I’m not 100% sold on the winner but I’ll probably head towards Eubank on points,” said Smith when speaking to Boxing News.

“Just size-wise. Conor is small, I think Chris might rob a points win, he’ll jab, he’ll be cagey. That’s his style now.

“He’s not the Chris of old where he loves a fight and is ferocious and loves a high work rate. He’s cagey, he holds a lot, and I don’t think he’ll give Conor a chance.”
