In a recent social media post, Turki Alalshikh, who oversees the lavish spending on sports and entertainment by the Saudi Arabian government but is also a die-hard boxing fan, asked for help in making fights.

"Suggest for me ten fights in boxing you want to see in 2025", Alalashikh asked. With the unlimited budget, nothing seems unachievable if he wants to make the fight; he has the resources to pay for the fights, which fans have yearned for years, which are now finally happening regularly on major Riyadh season cards in Saudi Arabia. However, he is now branching out to the United States with a card on August 3rd. And one is coming up on September 21st in the United Kingdom.

Here is my wish list for the next 12 months' top ten fights I would like to see in no particular order.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

For ages, the boxing world has eagerly awaited the global superfight, with fans split on who they believe would win. The build-up to the fight would be unprecedented in the United Kingdom. Joshua (28-3 25 KOs) and Fury (34-1-1 24 KOs) signed the contract to finally meet in 2021, only for the third fight in an epic trilogy against Deontay Wilder to scupper plans. The pair both agreed to fight after Joshua's rematch loss to Usyk in 2022. With Fury out to avenge his loss to Oleksandr Usyk, the pair will collide In December, but not before Joshua faces Daniel Dubois in September for the IBF title. These two fights could lead to the highly anticipated, long-awaited contest.

Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson

In the battle of the unbeaten fighters, fans urged both men to put their undefeated records on the line. Whether you favour heavy-handed, front foot pressure, and the one- punch KO artist in Davis (30-0 28KOs) who personifies his nickname tank or Stevenson (22- 0 10 KOs), who has an incredible IQ and jab. Either way, it is an intriguing 50/50 fight which is one of the most exciting to be made in the sport. Davis is one of the biggest draws in boxing. If this fight were to materialise with Stevenson, it would result in big numbers on pay-per-view in the United States and globally.

Saul Canelo Alvarez Vs David Benavadiez

There are not many fights that the fans want to see more than this one. The undefeated Benavidez (29-0 24 KOs) against Alvarez (61-2-2 39 KOs) recognised, as the sport's biggest name. Benavidez has been the mandatory challenger for his WBC super-middleweight title for over two years, but the mandatory has never been called by the WBC. The Mexicanhas been chasing a world title shot. Canelo addressed those demands and said it would take between 150-200 million dollars for the risk associated with the fight. Does this make this super fight further away than ever before.

Jai Opetaia vs Chris Billam- Smith

Opetaia (25-0 19 KOs), the IBF Cruiserweight champion and ring magazine champion number one in the division after two victories against former champion Maris Bredis, has WBO champion Billam-Smith (20-1 13 KOs) in his sights. The fight would be unification for Opetaia, IBF title and Billam-Smith, WBO title. There are venues in the United Kingdom, such as Bournemouth Vitality Stadium, where Billam-Smith, a long-life Bournemouth fan, would sell out, or London 02 Arena. The cruiserweight division remains one of boxing's intriguing divisions and talks of Oleksandr Usyk re-entering the fold might have only added to that. Billam-Smith could choose to take another route and face WBA champion Gilberto Ramirez, which would make the fight bigger if there were three out of the four belts on the line.

Terence Crawford vs Jaron Ennis

Crawford (41-0 31 KOs), a four-weight world champion regarded among the boxing fraternity as top three in their P4P rankings, captured the WBA light middleweight title on 3rd August, defeating Israil Madrimov. Crawford can switch hit and his ring general ship and IQ will stand any era of boxing, including the boxing four kings Leonard, Hagler Hearns & Duran. Ennis (32-0 29 KOs) he IBF welterweight champion has been chasing Crawford for over two years now. However, with not many marquee fights in the division, it looks likely that he will need to move up to light middleweight for a career-high purse and Ennis and towards his legacy whether Crawford, 36, will want to face the younger man in Ennis at 27, will remain to be seen if one more can make the fight that will be Turki Alalshikh.

Anthony Yarde vs Joshua Buatsi

Yarde (28-3 24 KOs), a former two-time light heavyweight title challenger, is currently in a contractual dispute with his long-time promoter, Queensbury Promotions. The fight with Buatsi (18-0 13 KOs) is one of the biggest fights in British Boxing. The fight fans have clamoured for since Buatsi turned professional has yet to materialise. Buatsi is due to face Willy Hutchinson on September 21st for the WBO interim title, so if Yarde's contractual issues are resolved, then there is no reason the fight cannot take place in the first quarter of 2025 if Buatsi was to come through unscathed.

Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia II

In the controversial first fight on April 20th, Garcia (22-1 20 KOs) floored Haney (31-0 15 KOs) three times and beat him by unanimous decision, later overturned as a no-contest. Garcia, the victor on the night, tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine in two separate drug tests around the first fight. Haney, the youngest-ever undisputed lightweight champion, could not execute his jab in the first fight. Only time will tell whether Haney will want to give Garcia another opportunity. The rematch, if it were to take place after Garcia's 12-month ban, would surely do big numbers on pay-per-view, especially after the build-up and aftermath of their first fight.

Jesse Rodriguez vs Junto Nakatani

Rodriguez, known as Bam, (20-0 13 KOs) the WBC super flyweight and two-division champion, is regarded as one of the top 10 P4P and listed at number 5 in the ring magazine rankings. The meteoric rise of Rodriguez, 24, continued after the brutal beating of Estrada, one of the best fighters in the lower division of this generation. Bantamweight world champion Nakatani from Kanagawa, Japan, is the WBC bantamweight champion and is a three-weight world champion (27-0 20 KOs). His resume speaks for itself after winning titles at multiple weights. Like fellow Japanese P4P, boxing star four-weight world champion Naoya Inoue, Kanagawa is hailed as the next monster. If Rodriguez moved up to bantamweight in the next 12 months, this would be an all-action war between two of the best fighters in the lower-weight divisions.

Tim Tsyzu vs Vergil Ortiz

Tsyzu (24-1 17 KOs), the son of former light-welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu, was scheduled to face Ortiz on the Riyadh season USA card on 3rd August. The fight was cancelled due to the injury. Tsyzu suffered a horrific head gash in his brutal split decision defeat to Sebastian Fundora for the WBO & WBC light middleweight title. Tszyu was not ready because his cut from March was still healing, and he was not ready in time. Ortiz (22-0 21 KOs) relentless pressure style and ability to string together powerful combinations will ensure that if the fight were to happen in the next 12 months, then their styles would gel. Both men leave it all in the ring, and their fan-friendly style will make this one of the biggest fights in the 154lbs division.

Katie Taylor vs Alycia Baumgardner

Taylor (23-1 6 KOs), 38, who has accomplished so much in the sport, is a 2012 gold medallist and has helped to put women’s boxing on the map in the United Kingdom and globally. Providing women with opportunities and purses they had never received prior to turning professional in 2016. The former two-weight world champion has boxedworldwide, gaining a global fan base, especially in their home country of the Republic of Ireland, where Taylor is loved. Baumgardner (15-1 7KOs) has a reputation for being a big puncher in the lightweight division. Taylor has more experience as a professional, having fought over 118 more professional rounds 204, compared to Baumgardner’s 86. Taylor will rematch Amanda Serrano on 15th November. The first was one of the greatest boxing fights in the sport, and Baumgardner's next fight was Taylor's former opponent, Delfine Persoon, on September 27th. If both come through their respective fights and are injury, this is the fight that makes the most sense, for both fighters will just need to negotiate whether it is at 135lbs, or 140lbs.
